National Youth Science Camp in the News. . .

This summer was no exception in having states and countries represented by delegates (high-achieving STEM students) at the National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp). For almost a month, the 2017 NYSCamp continued the tradition of merging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) presentations and hands-on activities, with adventures in the great outdoors of West Virginia.

It is truly unique what you may find in the beautiful hills of West Virginia, like the Green Bank Observatory, not far from the Science Camp. One new addition for the NYSCamp was offering program activities during the overnight trips for delegates at the National Youth Science Center.

One of this year’s delegates, Ashleigh Hines from Oklahoma, summed it up this way, The NYSCamp is an amazing place where thoughts and ideas can thrive and flourish. Not only are we challenged mentally, but also physically. I have been pushed outside of my comfort zone, and I think that is so important. I have been a part of so many unique experiences that I couldn’t ever have had without this camp.”
