Director of STEM Programs
The NYSF is pleased to announce that Mr. David R. Koritko has been selected as its first Director of STEM Programs. Mr. Koritko has over 20 years of teaching experience from the middle school level through community college. Mr. Koritko uses innovation, science, and technologies to create and administer programs that offer group learning opportunities and real-world problem-solving skills. Specialties include geosciences, physics, and drone technologies. Mr. Koritko will be based at the National Youth Science Center and will have primary responsibility for planning and operating the NYSF’s new STEM programs including the STEM Explorations, STEM Academies, STEM Seminars, and STEM Teaching.
Koritko says, “My philosophy to teaching STEM has always been to be bold when creating activities for students. Think beyond what is accepted as the norm and discover new perspectives that will engage students in meaningful ways that will inspire them to do great things to make our world a better place to live and work.”
