OverviewThe Foundation operates several residential youth science education programs, including the National Youth Science Camp, the Youth Science Leadership Institute and the West Virginia Governor's School for Mathematics and Science. These programs follow a general model which includes both academic components and challenging outdoor recreation activities. Additional programs are under development. Programs are offered as funding permits. The Foundation's upcoming program schedule is provided below,

National Youth Science Camp -- a month-long program for students who graduate from high school in 2010. Each state selects two delegates to participate in this residential science education program held in a facility located in the Monongahela National Forest in the Allegheny Highlands of West Virginia. Transportation to and from Charleston, WV, was arranged by the Foundation.

West Virginia Governor's School for Mathematics and Science -- a two-week program for 60 West Virginia students (30 boys and 30 girls) entering the ninth grade in fall 2010. The program will be held in partnership with and on the campus of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Green Bank, West Virginia. The GSMS is supported by the West Virginia Research Challenge Fund awarded by the Division of Science and Research of the Higher Education Policy Commission with support from the Office of the West Virginia Secretary of Education and the Arts, Kay Goodwin.
