Dr. Holmes Morton
Pediatrician & Director, Clinic for Special Children
A Neurogenetic Disease Called Glutaric Aciduria: 20 Years of Work with a Sense of Progress
In lectures to students about his work, Dr. Morton tells them that he is a biologist, with special interest in neurobiology and genetics, who found an unusual way to make a living as a general pediatrician for children who have complex medical problems. He is a person with many interests in the sciences and humanities, who set out at age 18 to be a writer, and who, unexpectedly, found meaningful work as a physician and remarkable opportunities to learn, to write, and to be helpful to children in need.
